◇Day 3◇

“Material Detection I”

I close my eyes.

In the darkness behind my eyelids, several faint lights appear.

The glow lingers for a while even after I open my eyes.

Wherever the light shines, there is food.

Thanks to my Apothecary class Skill, food hasn’t been an issue so far.

”Oh? What’s this… a plant material?”

Not just fruits—some grasses also react to Material Detection, glowing faintly.

A plant with small yellow flowers swaying in the breeze.

I pluck one casually and—

Sunlit Herb | Rarity: SR

Description: A medicinal herb that blooms only during daylight.

Considered a flower found only in remote regions, its harvesting is prohibited by the Church.

Once known as the “Herb of Happiness” in ancient times.

”Seeking happiness through medicine goes against the teachings of the Church.”

Effect: When mixed into healing potions, significantly enhances regenerative properties.

Side Effects: Increases dependency on medicine. (Ineffective for Apothecary class.)

The description of the herb flows into my vision as text.

”Ooh!”

This is great!

Might come in handy while searching for Taste Medicine recipes.

Right, I should secure a proper means of recovery too.

Maybe mass-produce healing potions using my Apothecary Skills.

Thank goodness for that low-key cheat item, the Bottomless Bottle—automatically refills when I’m not looking.

Because of it, securing recovery items is ridiculously easy.

”wafu!! wafuwafu!”

And one more discovery.

It seems this Material Detection Skill might share information with Tabo.

Over five times now, he’s brought me fruits the moment I detected them.

Can this Skill be shared with allies?

”Or… are you just special?”

“tabotabo”

I squish Tabo’s fluffy cheeks.

Hmm… adorable.

Probably the cutest dog in the world.

I rinse a fruit lightly and pop it into my mouth, skin and all.

The texture and juiciness are amazing, but…

”Still can’t taste anything, huh…”

This is… low-key stressful.

This whole “no sense of taste” thing isn’t great.

”wafu?”

Tabo sits politely in front of the fruit.

Guess Elma trained him well.

He never touches food before I do.

“yoshi”

”wafu!”

The moment I give permission, he barks happily and devours the fruit.

Hmm… a fruit-loving dog…

I’d like to feed him some meat soon, but…

This forest… weirdly enough, I don’t see many other creatures around.

Well, Foe Detection triggers occasionally, so they must exist—just that every one of them seems dangerous.

The instant Foe Detection activates, I make sure to leave immediately.

Thanks to that, I’ve avoided any real danger yesterday and today.

”As expected of this world. No matter what you do, you need some level of combat strength.”

“wan”

Today’s goal: Expand my combat capabilities using the Skill Experience Points saved up from the first two days!

First, let’s check my Status.

Still a trash-tier Status.

But compared to the first day, there are some slight differences…

…MP is just “I”?

Did Elma’s punch have something to do with this?

The Mutations section mentions ”Forced Mana Point Opening”…

I should ask her tonight what exactly she did.

I point my finger at the Skill Tree—the core of today’s agenda.

pinpoon—the familiar chime rings in my ears again.
