Several hours passed as I continued punching the tree.
The effects of the Mutsuyaku (Pain-Numbing Potion) were nothing short of incredible.
Even as my fists became drenched in blood, I felt no pain.
The skin peeled back, and blood trickled down, yet the force behind my punches remained unfaltering.
Still, while there was no pain, the damage was clearly accumulating.
At this rate, my fists would shatter and become utterly useless.
“Not that it’s a problem.”
I pulled an empty bottle from the alchemist’s bag, scooped water from a nearby river, and held it firmly in my hand.
Time to use another skill I’d discovered earlier.
“Alchemist Skill: Kaihōyaku Seisei (Healing Potion Creation).”
The bottle glowed green, and I immediately began shaking it vigorously up and down.
The water inside the glass turned into a pale green liquid.
I poured the liquid over my battered right hand.
“Heal! No problem, all fixed!”
And like magic, the peeled skin and spilled blood restored themselves.
It was as though time itself rewound, undoing the damage at an incredible pace.
Wow, this healing potion is amazing!
My wounds vanished in seconds.
What’s more, I feel great.
It’s refreshing—like a clean, invigorating breeze blowing through me!
Though, something about this healing potion… feels like I’m forgetting something important.
Thinking calmly, isn’t it kind of ridiculous to create such a powerful potion with just water?
I haven’t really checked the game’s alchemy system or mechanics. Not my area of expertise.
…Well, as long as it’s useful, it’s fine, right?
And so, using a combination of Dokushu (Poison Hand), Mutsuyaku, and Kaihōyaku, I steadily racked up skill experience points.
[…Magnificent. Yes, yes, this is what I wanted to see! It’s so much better than those petty arguments between Isekai-streaming VTubers. Watching a player train skills with quiet determination is truly beautiful!]
“…Did you say something?”
[Oh no, nothing at all! I’m just the tutorial, after all. Feel free to call me anytime you need assistance.]
That thing… it’s definitely not just a tutorial.
I continued to punch trees and craft potions, over and over mechanically.
Then, suddenly, glowing text appeared before my eyes.
~~~~
- Unique Ability Dokushu has evolved. The amount of poison secreted from your hands has increased.
- Alchemist Skill Kaihōyaku Seisei I has been upgraded. Mixing medicinal herbs or other ingredients into the potion will enhance its effects.
~~~~
“Oh?”
This was an unexpected bit of luck.
Not only had Dokushu improved, but my alchemist skill also leveled up.
Upgrade and evolution… what’s the difference?
Focusing on Dokushu, I noticed that a green aura of sorts now emanated faintly from my hands.
Visually, it’s… awful.
What would happen if I touched my face with these hands?
As for the alchemist skill… more testing seemed necessary.
Judging by the description, the more effort I put into mixing ingredients, the better the potions would become.
“Alright, guess I’ll keep training my skills at this pace—huh?”
A shiver ran down my spine.
The kind that made me want to scream but couldn’t.
What… was that?

“…External threats?”
I have a bad feeling about this.
